Thursday July 8th, 1999 before Justice Lyons at the Supreme Court in Freeport, Grand Bahama. The law firm, Callenders & Co., is taking action against the Controller of Customs for refusing to permit the firm, a licensee of the Grand Bahama Port Authority, to import a vehicle without the payment of duty and permitting it to be imported under their bond.
This is the first occasion that a licensee of the Port Authority has issued proceedings against the Comptroller of Customs. On Tuesday July 13th the case was argued and the Judge reserved his decision until Monday July 19th at 9:30am when he will deliver his judgment. (© 1999 Photo by Tim Aylen/Picture This)
